It's about 14 miles between our home and the Pinecastle Bombing range which is our closest neighbor to east before you hit Highway 19 and Astor. Yes you do hear bombs on occasion but you barely notice them.
It's about a 40 minute drive to the Walmart on Highway 40 and the center of Ocala unless you get really heavy afternoon traffic like on Fridays and then it may run you up to an hour to get to town. You can of course go to the Winn Dixie here in the forest like most of us do.
3 bedroom 2 Bath Mobile Home
Our home is a 3 bedroom 2 full bath mobile home built in 1993 with about 1100 sq ft of living space. It's a single wide trailer and nothing super special to be truthful. The house is in great shape for it's age and is in livable condition with a fresh coat of paint and all new carpeting. We do have two kids ages 8 and 2 now and they have put some wear and tear on the floors and walls but the house is still very solid. I'm in the process of refurbishing some things and repainting now. The house has a working dishwasher, fridge, full size stove, central air conditioning and ceiling fans in every room that work great. All major appliances function properly.
The house is situated on 3 acres of former citrus farm land and was parceled by Florida Fruit Corporation 20 plus years ago. It is zoned A1 agriculture in Marion County Florida with some deed restrictions on things such as property setbacks, commercial use and appearance. No car junkyards and smelly commercial farms around us and most everyone in the area has but a few small farm animals or horses. The neighbors are great, we barely know any of them and that's how we wanted it when we moved here.
There is a 2 story pole barn recently constructed of pressure treated lumber that can easily serve as studio apartment. with over 900 square feet of living space. This was listed on the Marion County tax records for our property when we purchased the land but I noticed today that the listing has been changed and I will have to have it looked into because they now have it listed as only 304 feet when its way more than that. They have made a mistake when they made some corrections to the listing last year. This property is listed under my mothers name.
Sportsmans Life
Fish in Wells Pond less than 400 yards down the road and catch bluegill, crappie and bass. Fish on Lake Bryant, Half Moon Lake, Mill Dam or anyone of the 600 plus other lakes and ponds in Marion County in minutes.
Hunt the Ocala Wildlife Management area from the yard with deer, bear and turkey spotted from the property within the past year.
Hike the Florida Trail with access at the Farles Prarie trailhead.
Bike the endless miles of trails leading off in every direction including Paisley Woods Trail but don't forget your GPS!
Camp over 20 designated camping locations within a 30 minute drive.
Swim or Canoe down Juniper Springs , the Ocklawaha River, Alexander Springs Creek and Salt Springs Run in 20 minutes.
Ride your ATV and 4 x 4 off road vehicles with direct forest access from the front yard. Stop by and take our 4 wheeler for a ride and enjoy the area while you look over the property.
